The Host by Stephenie Meyer

The Host: A Novel The Host: A Novel by Stephenie Meyer

My review

rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well, I must say I enjoyed this book much more than I thought I would. I fell in love with Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga and I was unsure how I would like The Host, especially since aliens are not a genre I enjoy reading about. Meyer has a talent for writing memorable characters that have the ability to captivate the reader. One of Meyer's greatest achievements with this novel is creating a story that I couldn't tell what was going to happen next. She kept me guessing until the last page. There were a few quirky things that made me go, "huh?" but, considering the human race is on the verge of being annihilated, I guess some of my "huh" moments could be plausible given the context of the book. Overall it is an exciting page turner! Just as Meyer made me (someone who doesn't read vampire books) a fan of her "vampire" books; she also made me someone who, for the first time, enjoyed an alien book. Well done Stephenie.

we're actually in Blackfoot....crazy! Where are you guys at? I found you through Eliza Dunkle....she found you guys somehow and emailed me the link....I couldn't believe that you married Loren! Did you know that I went on a double date with him once? It's such a small small world! your girls are so beautiful and look so much like you! it's so fun to find people on the internet and be able to keep in touch! And I LOVE that you read so much....I wish I had more time for it, but I totally LOVE your reviews! :)

I completely LOVED this book! I read it while I was waiting for Breaking Dawn to be released. I love the struggle her characters go through with what they are, and how it differs from what they want or need out of their life. I definitely this is a great read!

Oh my goodness! I still have to read this one, I don't even have time to get started talking about Breaking Dawn... great review though BTW. Let me just say, to me I wasn't too hot on the beginning but by the end I was totally hooked. There should've been more gruesome stuff though, a gnarly fight scene or two.
Remind me to tell you about my embarassing Dr. Jensen story sometime, as long as you take a vow of secrecy first that is.

Great Review - I was wondering if I would like this book. I'm like you not an alien fan but wasn't a vampire fan either. HA - I certainly am now!!

Thanks for the reviews!
