My Top 10

I thought it would be fun to make a list of my family's top 10 events from 2008. I will start with #10 and work my way up to #1! If anyone wants to put this on their blog, it would be fun to read all of your top 10s as well!

#10--We got the back half of our house re-roofed. The best part was one of our friends was able to teach Loren how to roof so it is one more thing Loren can add to his lengthy list of skills.

#9-Our #10 event led to our #9 event. Loren's hernia surgery. The video of him snoring after going under the knife is on youtube. Click HERE to view.

#8--Due to Loren's surgery our big, annual camping trip got pushed back a month but we were able to make it up there! It was great fun and that is why it makes my top 10 list of 2008.

#7--We planted our first garden in our new house and right around this time Miss Morgan decided that she had had enough of diapers and we became diaper free for the first time in 4 1/2 years! I think that is a super milestone! Go Morgan!

#6--We had a great harvest from our little garden and were able to can over 50 pints of veggies, 70 pints of fruit and made over 20 pints of freezer jam.

#5 I GRADUATED from college!!

#4 Sydney got her insulin pump!

#3- Sydney was diagnosed with diabetes. Although this was the biggest life-changing event from the year, I didn't put it as our number 1. We had too many great things from this year that are much more fitting for our #1 spot.

#2--We participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundations (JDRF) Walk for a Cure and Team Sydney raised over $2,000 to help find her cure.
And here is our #1 event from 2008--drum roll please....
#1 We took a family trip to Disneyland!
Overall it was a great year. We had a lot of wonderful things happen. It was so hard to limit my list to ten. One of my goals for 2009 comes from a quote that says, "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away." So no matter what comes our way this year, we are going to search for the sweet moments that make the bitter things in life a little easier to swallow. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

That was sooo cute. Hannah still loves the video of Loren snoring. She always asks to watch it. You have all been through a lot, and we hope this next year goes better. Miss ya!! Happy New Year.
