A Train to Potevka

A Train to Potevka A Train to Potevka by Mike Ramsdell

My review

rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an interesting book. It's filled with lots of Russian history, which I really enjoyed. I took a class one semester all about Russian history. That is probably one reason why this book appealed to me from the start. The storyline is very interesting and suspenseful. I love that this is a true story. The writing isn't as great as it could have been but the author is not an author by profession. He is a U.S. intelligence officer writing a novel about his experience as a spy in Russia. Overall, it is a good story with enough suspense to keep me turning the pages. I would recommend it with the disclaimer that he will often pull away from the storyline and immerse his reader in Russian history, so be prepared for that but otherwise, enjoy the book.
