Syd's New Hair-Do

Sydney has been growing her hair out for a while. She has been wanting it cut for a couple of weeks but we have wanted her to wait it out and make sure this is what she really wanted. Originally she wanted to grow it long enough to donate to locks of love but when my sister Malory was staying with us last night (she is a great cosmetologist!), Sydney decided to let Malory cut her hair and throw in a few highlights. I didn't even know you could highlight a 5 year old's hair but apparently it has to do with the medulla or something or other...I don't know...and she said a few highlights on top would be fine. I think it is a bit high maintenance to color a 5 year old's hair but Malory was excited so we let her do it. I must say I had my doubts but it turned out adorable!! See for yourself!!

Malory also trimmed Morgan's hair a little bit but she was scared to cut it.

~The girls letting the color process. Note: Morgan doesn't have color in her foils...it's just conditioner but she wanted to color her hair too but Mal said her hair would fry so we fooled her with conditioner. It was like a mini beauty parlor in our home.


~This is after! Doesn't she look so grown up? Sniff sniff! The highlights look really natural too.
