It. Happened.

My hands got shaky. Palms were sweaty. Was I actually about to cross this line? I swore this moment would never come. It was not my style. The stigma surrounding such a purchase was too great. But, we wanted it. We'd been looking at it for nearly a year. It was finally happening. No going back. Now my already large size 10 shoes were going to be larger. I have to help reverse the negative stigma and make minivans cool again.

Some people have been attempting such a task. Tib is one such person. I have joined forces with her to make driving a minivan cool--or at least I'm gonna really try. With that being said, meet my new wheels. A used Toyota Sienna with DVD player. I realize this may seem like a lofty purchase since I only have 2 kids...and no this is not a pregnancy announcement...but we wanted the bigger cargo room. Kids take up a lot of space!

So here are the pics...the new-to-me minivan. Driven by Shamae whose trying to make the minivan cool again. If I'm not successful, I'll pout about it while enjoying the DVD player, automatic side doors, and a cheaper car payment!

~It was clean prior to a lovely wind/rain/snow storm.

~Morgan is dad's right hand pal...helping him put on the licence plates.
~A cute father/daughter bonding moment.

So, my shoes to fill are large. Wish me luck! I might just have to have a bumper sticker made that says, "honk if you're making the minivan cool!"
So, how many of my readers are attempting to improve the stigma of the minivan?

The fact that it IS a Toyota, it is red, AND it has a DVD player does make your minivan cool Shamae! I like it! :)

Minivans are completely cool, especially since I had to get one in July. There reaches a point in your life where you pass minivans and you covet them, seriously.

Plus, when you have ladies night think of all the friends you can bring along.

Or think of how far away you can get your kids from you while driving. Mmmm, thats really the best part.

ME ME ME! I have a VERY cool smurf blue Nissan Quest...that I actually love, but had a hard time at first. Now, well....it's cooler than I thought! :)

I tried for years my friend. But I just couldn't make it cool. I've owned 2 of them. But if anyone can do it...it is you (and Tib.)

PS The dvd player is worth it's weight in gold! It's like a baby swing...we can't live without it! Long trips to the endo...NO PROBLEM! 7 hours to Disneyland...NO PROBLEM! You are going to LOVE IT!

LOL... you're too funny! I swore I'd NEVER own a minivan but when the cost of the van came in at $300 a month less than the huge SUV we had the choice became very easy for me! My hubby still refuses to drive it because it's not cool but I enjoy it and so will you!

I completely understand the feeling of giving up the cute, fast fun car..we had a nice one for the more roomy Mini-van. I too am trying to make it cool again and I believe that driving a Honda Odessey or a Toyota Sienna can do that!!!!! The space is awesome and they don't look to bad either :)

plus when you do make a pregnancy announcement you will be ready!!!

Welcome to the club. Chris and I had a no mini-van pact when we first started talking about kids but got one when Davis was only 4 months old (needed a new car). I love it.

How funny! I swore I would never drive one, but rented one for a road trip and loved it. We just may break down and buy one after we have kids. Then I can try and help you improve the minivan's stigma!
