Pregnant Man/Woman Pregnant Again?

While perusing CNN's website, I stumbled across a video that caught my attention, "Pregnant Man is Expecting Again." After delivering a baby girl in June, the so-called "pregnant man" is, apparently, pregnant once again.

**Just a forewarning, coming next are my subjective views on this subject. Also, in order to take a somewhat humorous approach about this situation, I've used some colorful terms to keep the tone light. Nevertheless, the "colorful words" do refer to male body parts. Just thought I should mention that before you choose to read on.**

I would first like to mention I am not writing this blog to bash his/her choices. My beef with this whole situation is not that Tracy chose to become Thomas. My beef with this whole situation is the simple fact that the "man" literally lacks the beef. I actually blame the media with their grandiose hype about a pregnant man. Men cannot get pregnant. Just because Thomas chose to take hormones in order to grow facial hair and just because he chose to have his breasts removed does not make him a man. Lets look at the simplest reason for this---the acorn doesn't have a stem. He lacks the very parts (and the chromosome) that make a man a man! That should be a big enough reason why he is not a pregnant man.

Ok, follow my train of thought for a second. Just for kicks, I could decide to have my breasts removed (considering my husband didn't take the doctor out first for even attempting to desecrate his place of worship). I could also decide to pop a pill every day to adorn my mug with some facial fur. I could even go as far as having the girly-ness about me re-routed to create a more manly facade. (definition of facade=artificial or false front which is not consistent with the construction of the rest.) Even if I successfully accomplished these things, it would not change the fact that I am, by nature, a woman. I would not be a man. I would be a woman attempting to live as a man.

Furthermore, this feat is physically impossible. Men who are born boys at birth cannot get pregnant....their stem and apricots prohibit this from happening. Even men who choose to live life as women cannot become pregnant. Why? BECAUSE INTERNALLY THEY ARE MEN--their genetic compesition denys this from occuring! Just because you remove the jewels from the castle, doesn't make it possible for men to become pregnant. They lack a uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries--need I go on? They are born as men and the fact that their nether-regions get renovated, doesn't change their XY make up. The same goes for women who choose the transgender lifestyle. They can overhaul their body as much as they like, it doesn't change their XX inherent gender.

Now let me reiterate something: I am not bashing Thomas' choice to live life as a man. Although I disagree with transsexual situations, it is within his God given right (called agency) to make this choice. I do disagree with the impossible propaganda flying around about a pregnant man. A woman, chromosomally speaking, will always be XX. A man, chromosomally speaking, will always be XY. No physical changes can alter this fact. DNA speaks for itself. Thomas is a pregnant woman who is choosing to live as a man. He most certainly is NOT a pregnant man.

I couldn't get the video to embed properly on this post so here is the link if anyone is interested

The media can be so stupid! Hello!? I guess we can't change that though, can we?

I agree with you on this one. Barbara Walters is doing a special on this tonight called something like "What is a man and a woman"

I totally agree with you. Our chromosomal make up defines what sex our physical bodies are. My guess is that no reporter has stopped to do a blood test and realize that Thomas seems to be missing "his" Y Chromosome that would make "her" a "him" at all. Sorry to burst your non existent bubble Thomas, but.... your a girl.

LOL! I loved your "colorful words!" I agree with you 100%! No matter what she/he looks like, or chooses to be- her/his body was born and will forever be female! All media is becoming a joke these days . . .

I agree with you 100% I laughed so hard when I read what you had to say about it. You totally crack me up! I can't believe how gross that is. It's just wrong. It's not the way that God intended for children to be brought into this world. By the way, he/she is not a seahorse, so it's a totally different situation. Women give birth period! Oh, the nerve of that person to try and live both worlds as man and woman. It's wrong!

Just my two cents on this pregnant person situation...I refuse to call her a man because like you said, no amount of surgeries can change what you were when you were born. The thing that really bothers me though is when she says she just wants people to be more open minded. What does that mean? Should we all pretend to be men having babies? Should we all pretend like she really is a man having a baby? I really don't get what she means by being more open minded. Maybe I'm too close minded to understand what she means by being more open minded. Like you said, she has agency and can do what she wants and I don't care what her personal choices are, but don't accuse me of being close minded because I refuse to acknowledge she is really a man having a baby.
Sorry for the ramble. Like I said, it's just my two cents.
