A couple diabetes FYI's for you

I wanted to inform my readers about couple of things you can do to help make a difference in the Type 1 diabetes world, a subject near and dear to my heart. Read below and if you feel so inclined, you can participate in any or all of the opportunities. Also, if you want, you can copy and paste this post into an email or post it on your blog. The more people we can spread the word to, the better. I would really appreciate it. I received this information from Stacey McAllister, the Special Events Coordinator for the Utah Chapter of JDRF.

**Albertsons Preferred Card is now allowing us to link our cards to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) so they can receive a portion of all our grocery purchases! In fact, JDRF will receive 4% of all linked purchases! They are asking us to link (or re-link) by February 28th. It’s a SIMPLE process – just visit and input your preferred savings card number. Our JDRF organization ID number is 49000115095. The more people we have linked up, the more money we can raise, so please encourage your friends, relatives, co-workers, and neighbors to link up as well!

** is a search engine that donates all their advertising proceeds to charity. It works just like Google. The first time you visit , you have to designate your charity of choice (please choose JDRF, UTAH chapter), but every time after that, it will default to us. I just like to remind everyone at the start of the year of this great opportunity for us to raise additional funds!

**In that same vein, Search Kindly is another non-profit website that donates all of its advertising revenue to charities. Search Kindly has chosen JDRF as one of its potential beneficiaries. Each month, the charity that receives the most votes gets ALL of the revenue raised for that month. JDRF is currently in the lead for the month of January, so go to Search Kindly and vote for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation where it says "Cast Your Vote" and help keep us in the lead!

I wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone for your support in these worthwhile causes. Together, we can help find a cure.
