The Wizard of Oz--Young Women Style

I thought I would post some pics from our most recent church activity. I mentioned before that me and 3 other women teach the young women (12-18 year olds) in our ward. Every Wednesday night we have an activity in addition to church on Sundays. This week we put on a skit for them. It was based on The Wizard of Oz. I am very aware this is a classic show and we probably desecrated all that Judy Garland worked so hard to achieve in this movie but we had a great time and the girls and their families loved it. We also were able to share a great message. Our theme was "Follow the Yellow Brick Road Back to Your Heavenly Home." As Dorothy walked along the path she was faced with various challenges where she had to make good choices in order to make it to Oz. The challenges were things that our young people are faced with everyday and our girls could relate to. Despite the overwhelming amount of prep work that went into it, it was a great activity. Anyway here are some pictures for you. P.S. I am the wicked witch.....mwa-ha-ha

**Oh and you might notice in many of the pics I am in "scare" position, this is because I have no idea how to take a serious picture when I am dressed like that! Witches just can't take cute pics. Consequently, I didn't try.**

~My and my friend Jen-the-lion. I was trying to scare her...clearly she is terrified!

~Dorothy had a better reaction to my terrifying appearance.
~Glenda the good-witch did not react properly. I think she was more scared than she looks...just on the inside. ;) ha ha Really, I am very scary!!
~Here is my friend Jessie, she is our beloved heroine, Dorothy. She did a great job for being around 10 weeks pregnant and sick. (Jessie is pregnant, not Dorothy. We didn't desecrate the play that much. ha ha ha)

~The Tinman and the Lion. What a cute couple. (They are married in real life.)

~Our scarecrow Katiemarie. She had the best "redneck" accent I have ever heard! She was a hoot!! She is pregnant too. What a sport!

~All of us talking to the wizard to see if he can help us.
~Cast photo. See witches can't take good serious pictures. It is just out of character for us. :)

~Goofy group shot of the cast with our girls.

That looks like so much fun, but since we only have 3 young women we are going pretty simple and I guess lame. We are doing a dinner after church and having the girls speak on a topic they will be given. I'm sure it will turn out but you guys make us look lame. I don't think we would even have enough leaders to pull something like that off. Way to go. you make such a great witch. Oh and the answer to your question is that I may already be and if not it is in the Lord's hands. How about you? :)
