I Told You So Moments!

As a parent, do any of you experience the above mentioned incidents? In my home, I like to call these "I told you so moments." They are moments out of the day where I take a few seconds to remind my children that, yes, mother does know everything and had you listened to her, you wouldn't find yourself in your current predicament. I often wonder, no matter how often I try and impart wisdom with my girls, they still seem to manage to learn the hard way. I guess they haven't realized that their mother has all of this wisdom because she refused to learn from others mistakes. Such is life!
Enjoy and feel free to share any "I told you so moments" of your own. If you post them on your blog, please let me know so I can be sure to check em out!
Disclaimer: These pictures are reenactments of the actual event. I did not purposely make my children re-do their earlier mishaps. Notice they are wearing the same clothes in all the pics. These scenarios are based on actual events...no children were hurt in the re-making of these "I told you so moments." The following moments have all occurred in our home over the past few months.

Number 5
Mom--"Morgan, mommy said do NOT run through the kitchen or you will wind up getting hurt!"
Morgan--"No I won't mom. I'm fine running froo [through] the kitchen...." Loud WHACK as Morgan hits her head on the pulled out cutting board! <>

Later on....
Mom--"Ok Morgan now will you listen to mommy about not running through the kitchen?"
Morgan--In between post-sob sniffles, "Ya I will listen to you."
Mom--"I just don't want you to get hurt. Kapeesh?"
Morgan--"Kapoosh."
-------------------------------------------------------------
Number 4
Mom--"Sydney do not stand on both of your barbie cars at the same time. You are going to fall really hard when those wheels start to move!"
Sydney with her typical 'eye roll'--"No mom I won't. I am five now and.....Whoa.... MORGAN DON'T PUSH ME! Ahhhh!" CRASH and tears.
Mom--"Sydney will you listen to me now when I tell you not to do something because you might get hurt?"
Sydney--"Ya...sniffle sniffle. This was your fault though."
Mom--"How on earth was this my fault?"
Sydney--"Because Morgan is mean!"
Mom with her eye roll--"Sydney I did not do this and that made no sense. I told you what would happen and I was right. Don't do it again. Kapeesh?"
Sydney with another eye roll--"Kapoosh."
--Of course then I had to go and reprimand Morgan for her involvement in this little blunder. Morgan just smiled...what a little stinker!
-------------------------------------------------------------
Number 3
Mom--"Morgan do not stand on the chair! You are going to fall on your head!"
Morgan--"No I won't mom!"
Just as those words rolled off my tongue, Morgan lost her balance and came crashing to the floor...head first.
--Ahem...I told you so.--
Fortunately Morgan has a thick skull and she was not injured...she barely even bruised!
-----------------------------------------------------------
Number 2
Mom--"Sydney your sister is too big for you to carry around like a baby! Put her down before you both get hurt."
Sydney--"Mom I can carry her. I have muscles and I'm a mommy."
At this point Morgan wiggled and took Sydney off balance...they both came crashing to the floor. Sydney's ego was shattered--But not for long. After she pushed Morgan off her, she bounced right back to her normal, self-confident self. Even so, I had to take the time to say...
--I told you so!--
----------------------------------------------------------
And the number 1 "I Told You So Moment" goes to Morgan....
Mom--"Morgan do NOT climb on your kid kitchen. It will tip over on you."
Morgan--"Mom I'm a monkey and monkeys climb."
Mom--"Morgan you are too heavy it's going to tip..."
Just as I said this, the kitchen came crashing down. Once I removed the ruble from atop my 3 year old, I held her in my arms and said....
"I told you so."
Thanks for reading now go out and capture some of your own "I Told You So Moments." I'm sure there will be more to come from our home. :-)

Good one. Jonathan and I read these together and both laughed. I have had MANY "I told you so" moments. I will have to think back and post them for you. Thanks for the laugh and I am glad that no one was hurt during the re-enactment.

LOL about the re-enactments! It is so true though and sad, but also a little funny. Hopefully, sooner than later, these kids (yours and mine) will learn that mom isn't trying to curtail the fun, but prevent the pain. . .

Too cute, love the re-enactments. Happens alot with Easton right now, except he can't respond back and I don't think he really understands anyways! I always find it ironic that I'm hugging and comforting him but at the same time repremanding him! Your girls are adorable, I can't believe how big they are getting!!
