Question of the Day

I am not a huge fan of my handwriting. I always envied my friends in school who had "girly" writing. My penmanship isn't awful and has gotten better but I wish it were more curvy and cute; however, I am glad to say that my handwriting fits me. People who have seen my writing can tell it's my writing and I like that aspect. I like to be original. I think a person's penmanship says a lot about them. According to that theory I suppose mine says I am impatient and always in a hurry. :-) So here is my question for you:

Do you like your handwriting? Why or why not? What do you think your handwriting says about you?

I hate my handwriting!!! In school, I tried to copy my friend's handwriting. Theirs was kind of big and kind of "rounded" I guess you could say. It almost looked like bubbles. Hard to explain. Mine is small, stuck together. As for cursive.... I haven't done that in forever. That's horrible. It looks like a 90 year old woman with the shakes wrote it. My signature is also horrible. But hey, this way I don't have to worry about anybody copying it!! LOL :)

Actually, few people except Wendy know that I am a board certified psych nurse. Nineteen years ago, as part of my training I took a FBI sponsored course in hand writing analysis. Yes, a handwriting sample can give many descriptive features concerning your personality, your state of mind, feelings, and host of other factors. This training was used as a tool to gather insight, only. I must say it proved to be quite accurate and very interesting. Occasionally and under very limited circumstances, I will complete an analysis. However, I do this under medical supervision, only. Yes, I have done mine and yes, it has enabled me to identify features that need work!

I hate my handwriting. I always have and always will. My mom has great handwriting, it's curvy and flowing but you can read it. My younger brother and I also have the same boyish style. I have no idea what my handwriting would say about me besides boring.

I always wished I could write like the girls in school too, but I can't. And now that I've grown up, I don't want to anymore. That being said, I don't think my handwriting is always the same. I have noticed in long letters and journal entries that the handwriting changes. Sometimes I try to control it, sometimes I don't. But it is neat, legible, and sometimes pretty. I actually really like my printing - small caps style. And I'm teaching my kids handwriting (slow printing), so I've had to re-learn that. But I love that my 7 yr old can read cursive, because I don't like slow printing everything. Fun topic!

I change my handwriting frequently to elicit how I feel. Sometimes it feels good to write in all capital letters when I am not happy. Or write my a's differently. I don't really think I have nice handwriting...but you can read it! It looks kinda like a school girl's....I guess I never grew up!
