Well, it has happened. Sniff sniff. Sydney has completed the big grade of kindergarten. I feel like she practically has one foot out the door on her way to college! I know, I know, that's a bit dramatic but I'm always amazed at how quickly time goes and it further impresses me to spend more time--not just time, but quality time--with my kids. They grow up so quickly.
Sydney had her little patriotic, end-of-the-year program and it was adorable. They sang great songs, proudly displayed my beloved red, white, and blue, and showed us some of the great things they've learned this year. Syd has done very well. She participated in the AR reading program. She is reading like a champ! She still doesn't love math and we have to push her there but with books she will just get a stack, sit down and read them.
I'm excited for her to start 1st grade in the fall but, with that, it brings many reservations about her diabetes management. Kids successfully do it all the time so I'm confident we will find our groove and be just as successful in 1st grade as we were in kinder. But that doesn't squelch my nervousness until we get there. But, we will get there with the perseverance and determination we are so adept at. However, that's a post for another day. For now, enjoy some pictures.
~My mom came to the program and we went to lunch afterward. Here is my mom with Morgan. :-) Can't forget about my 4 year old lil munchkin who never ceases to crack us up.
~Sydney as one of the flag holders at her program.
~Her certificate of completion! ~Syd and her teacher Mrs. A. ~My mom and both my girlies--with Syd giving all you folks a peace sign. :-) ~Tonight my little sister Hailey graduates from high school. We have the big grad and the little grad. I think that's worthy of a picture. Stay tuned...
